Team Peugeot Total took a one two lock out in Q3 at the World RX of Latvia, round nine of the FIA World Rallycross Championship as Sweden’s Timmy Hansen won race one and set the quickest time.

France’s Sebastien Loeb then won race two and was only just slower that his Peugeot team mate, both drivers fighting back from problems in Q2 yesterday and are now third (Loeb) and fourth (Hansen) in the Intermediate Classification.

Overnight TQ (top qualifier) Johan Kristoffersson won race four and was third quickest, in front of EKS Audi Sport’s Mattias Ekstrom who was second to Kristoffersson and set the fourth quickest time. Another two drivers also fighting back from problems yesterday were Switzerland’s Nico Muller, racing for EKS and Sweden’s Kevin Hansen in the third Peugeot. Fifth and sixth times put both drivers in the fight for a place in the semi-finals this afternoon.

France’s Guerlain Chicherit was highest of the GC Competition drivers in seventh, his team mate Liam Doran lost time battling in traffic, Germany’s Timo Scheider won his race to be eighth quickset, Olsberg MSE’s Kevin Eriksson was ninth and GRX Taneco’s Niclas Gronholm completed the top ten. Norwegian’s Andreas Bakkerud and Petter Solberg had a close battle in race four but their times were only good enough for 11th and 12th overall in Q3.

Hungary’s Krisztian Szabo was quickest in Euro RX Supercar Q3, Latvia’s Reinis Nitiss was second and Finland’s Jere Kalliokoski was third.
